Ocean Inspired Prints

Kanaloa is a sustainable design brand, born from the need to showcase the magic of the ocean's biodiversity through thoughtfully designed prints in order to create awareness of the beauty found in the oceans so that people can feel the urgency to learn how to care for them and protect them.

Our prints are inspired by the colors an designs of the ocean, giving omage to endangered species, thus creating a bond between a person and the species print when wearing it. We hope to create a sence of belonging and protection in users towards the species print selected.

We create comfortable pieces intended to interact with all bodies of water. They are perfect for all kinds of water sports, allowing a tight fit for action and movement with ease, without any worries of malfunctions, while still looking amazing.  Use them for beach walks, river hikes, workouts, chilling at the lake, in the swimming pool,  or simply enjoying playtime with children with a secure fit.

About our name

According to Hawaiian mythology, Kanaloa is the God of the Ocean and Magic and it's represented by cephalopods (octopuses, cuttlefish, squids, nautilus). We believe Kanaloa will bestow the perfect oceanic guide for you, this is why we chose it and why we use the Blue-Ringed Octopus as our logo. Let Kanaloa, the blue-ringed octopus, guide you!

Sustainability

All our swimwear is made from high quality Eco Fabric (recycled PET Plastic polyester), guaranteeing a long lasting garment. They are all reversible, providing two styes in one, cutting down the need to acquire more garments for the same purpose that become more trash in the end.

Our production factory is located in the suburbs of Medellin, Colombia, they provide opportunities to neighboring vurnerable comunities. The printing process is positional (only the specific piece is printed), this reduces the fabric, dye and water waste versus printing the whole fabric. The leftovers remain white, making it easier to reuse or recycle them. Although this process increases labor costs, it avoids generating more waste than necessary, that will eventually end up in our oceans.
